Meet Coach Kim Walter

Growing up I played team sports from hockey to lacrosse, which taught me important life skills, teamwork, and a deep dedication to sport. I played hockey at a competitive level, including time with the NAIT Ooks, which pushed my work ethic and competitive instincts. I made the switch to endurance sport in 2015 when I bought a road bike to do the MS Bike Tour and then signed up for a local “try-a-tri” triathlon. From there I fell in love with the sport — it became a way of life for me. I have a real passion for sharing my knowledge with athletes who are new to endurance sports or those making a life change, as well as with more seasoned athletes looking to improve. I’m a full-time firefighter, so I understand the challenges of a busy schedule and shift work. In my downtime I enjoy tackling house projects like renovations and gardening, spending time outdoors, and hanging out with my dog, Bear, and my cat, Quill.
